presence of the defendant.
Magistrate: Where do you work and what is your position?
J. Caruana: I work at the Electoral Office as
Assistant Principle. We received instructions from Inspector Cremona to confirm
where the honourable Dalli lived in the following years 1987, 1990, 1994.
According to the research made at the office it results that October 1987 the
honourable Dalli lived at Lorenzo Gafa Street, Zebbug.
Defence: Although you have that registered
that does not mean in reality that he lived there?
J. Caruana: No that is where he was officially
registered as living.
Magistrate: The witness is exhibiting a
photocopy of the electoral register of October 1994, one of October 1990 the
other of October 1987 these are being marked by the court as doc RV1, RV2 and
RV3.
Defence: Meaning the information you gave us
is who was a registered voter at that address. Is that correct?
J. Caruana: Exactly.
Defence: Do you have any information who was
registered at 272 Main Street Balzan? You did look into that?
Magistrate: He is saying that he registered
there in 1994 then he has in 1987 and in 1990 however the witness is saying
that he cannot verify if he lived at the address he was registered.
